Caught in the Sea

Today is Sunday and it is usually my one day to do most of my creating and I try to take advantage of this down time.  So here is another card for a couple of challenges!!!  The first is for the Inky Paw Challenge hosted by Newton’s Nook!

IP 45

With this challenge we were given to use a doily and I have used the following stamp set by Newton’s Nook a few times in Bible journaling times but here is a fun spin on using a doily and this fun set called “Tranquil Tides”.  So just imagine the doily being a fisherman’s net and all those wonderful shells were caught up!  The background is made from Distress Oxide inks, my shells were stamped with both Hero Arts Shadow inks and also Momento Dew Drop inks.  The background was probably the longest part with blending, then drying, then splattering with water, drying, blending more ink and more drying.  I did that about three times to get the background you see here.   The doily was crumpled and then I smeared a Distress Oxide pad over the top in order to give it that worn look.  The only shells (of sorts that I did not stamp on separate paper) was the coral.  I did use one of my shadow inks and believe it or not, that is an olive green color but because the shadow inks are not opaque it looks more dark brownish green instead.  Once the doily and the shells were all adhered to the background, I mounted the card front to this premade card base.  Then I went over every shell with my Wink of Stella clear sparkle pen.  I did stamp the bubbles on with using the Oxide Ink and then adhered green holographic dots and sequins to the card and finished it with this sentiment.  Since I wanted to stay with one of the colors on the card, I smooshed my ink pad on some card stock, dried it and then stamped my sentiment.  I cut it out and popped it up on double sided foam tape.

The other challenge is by Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge.

Their challenges are new every Monday and this weeks was to “Splash It On” and boy did I with water with that background!!!  Here is my final product and I must say, I love how this turned out!!!  And the sentiment is perfect!
